“Opening up to feel again, to fall in love with the world with fresh eyes” – I love this feeling, what a tingling sensation of bliss.
Now, I know we should love every minute of our life. Always “be” in the present moment but this for me, and most probably many of you, is not always the case.
When this happens, I like to de-clutter all that is around me and then de-clutter my mind. I start by putting on some really good “soul” music and then role out my mat to begin working out what no longer serves me and replace it with pure, simple love.
Once I reach that place of peace, the lotus pose then takes hold.
It is at this moment my eyes rest shut, meditating. I give thanks and re-open my eyes.
Again, what a tingling sensation of bliss. This life is a blessing and we are here to learn all aspects of this precious life.
I know at times things can get tough nut it shall eventually pass because life is forever changing and evolving so we should learn to master this better too. As is commonly said in yoga; “I bend so that I don’t’ break”.
Now remember when that tingling feeling stops, take a quick time-out and do what works best for you to embrace life again but do not carry on trudging through with a bad outlook. Simply stop, regather, give thanks and move through with a positive outlook instead. You will find far better answers this way, I promise.
Always love, Namaste.
Oh, the beauty of moving from one asana to the next. How lovely the contrast of soft flowing movement held by inner strength.
I feel my soul dance to a rhythm of breathing and balancing.
There is a kind of magic discovered each time.
It is a forever evolving art of going into oneself and coming out a better version of self. We are artists of our own spirit creating a masterpiece of love and expression within.
Yoga is artful movement.
As I open my lungs, I take you in.
You wake me up, you calm me down.
Amidst the chaos, you show me stillness and clarity.
As I breathe in, my soul opens up and flows.
As a breathe out, my feet feel the ground and keep me present.
There are so many moments that I forget you but yet not once have you ever let me down.
Always nourishing, healing and strengthening.
I thank you for showing me the gentler side to life.
The slower more detailed essence of life.
Thank you breath for carrying and guiding me through life.
To breath mindfully is to live mindfully.
Explore Yourself with Yoga
I have been practicing yoga for may years now and yet every time I step onto my mat I explore new horizons of the soul. The thing about yoga is that it is not just made up of breath, flow and mastering poses but of self awareness. Awareness of the body and of the mind. I started yoga rather naive as to what I was getting myself into but the more I practiced the more I discovered. I do not know of anybody who has connected with yoga and not become more self aware of their thoughts and actions.
At the very start of practicing yoga I started to break down the ego in order to open up the heart so as to “feel” the asanas more deeply, this is still an ongoing practice as I have picked up bad habits but the point is that it continues to still teach me about myself and how to become a better human. It leaves me with a fresh view on life every time.
Our world is constantly surrounding us with images, commercials, adverts and all sorts that leave us feeling as though that is what we must aspire to be but the truth is we should aspire to be our selves, our true authentic selves and nothing less. This is why I love practicing yoga and continue on this journey of self discovery because with yoga, you cannot practice without the soul being fully present.
I look forward to starting this yoga journal and hope it leaves each one you inspired.
With love, always.
